It is a rigid framework assembly used to suspend conductors, support conductors or switchgear, and other electrical equipment. According to usage, it can be divided into feeder racks, busbar racks, central door-shaped racks, angle racks, transformer combination racks, and single-pole equipment brackets. Generally, there are two types: steel pipe columns, and a framework with a horizontal beam consisting of equilateral or equilateral triangular section steel pipes; lattice-shaped steel columns, lattice-shaped rectangular or triangular section beam structures.

According to the nature of electricity, maintaining an appropriate distance between conductors, conductors to ground, and conductors to structures is required. Therefore, the distinctive feature of the substation framework is its tall columns and small cross-section, making it a highly flexible structure. It has strong load-bearing capacity, a lightweight design, and is easy for construction and installation, but requires regular maintenance.
